AT&T and iPhone: lower price plan, Palm Pre pressure

We have more details now on AT&T’s apparant plans to introduce a $10 price cut to their current price plan for the Apple iPhone, in preparation for the new iPhone device launching this Summer.

According to Cnet, analyst Michael Cote of Cote Collaborative said: ‘There is a “strong possibility” that AT&T will drop the entry-level price of its service plan to $59 from $69.’

Cnet also point out that AT&T declined to comment on this, while Michael Cote did not respond to emails for further clarification.

Apple are expected to unveil the new iPhone on June 8th at the WWD event in San Francisco. If the price cut rumors are true, how will Palm respond? Do you think they will be under pressure if the cut goes into effect?
